Il Cinquecento in Florence. Michelangelo, Pontormo and Giambologna

Works by artists in 16th-century Florence are front and center of the new exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi

Autumn in Florence is all about art with countless new exhibitions and shows. One that you must absolutely see is the new exhibition at Palazzo Strozzi. Just opened, it is an exhibit that breaks with recent, more contemporary trends, although that statement might sound odd since the show focus on art from the Cinquecento.

Return to the classical

One year on, the rooms of Palazzo Strozzi resume conversation with classical art in this stimulating exhibition showcasing more than 70 works by the most famous artists of the Cinquecento, including Michelangelo, Bronzino, Giorgio Vasari, Rosso Fiorentino, Pontormo, Giambologna and Bartolomeo Ammannati.
After thrilling the general public with two exceptional exhibitions dedicated to two of the best-known contemporary artists in the world today - Ai Weiwei. Libero and Bill Viola. Electronic Renaissance, the main floor of the top exhibition space will embrace 16th-century Florentine art once more.
