July in Florence: Be.Green, choose sustainable transport.

The best of Florence this July with #EnjoyRespectFirenze!

The Florentine summer is in full swing: concerts, cultural festivals, kiosks on the Arno, romantic dinners at sunset...what a dream! But also: it's time to be green! July in Florence sees many events, trips and visitors, making it the perfect opportunity to talk about one of the main topics of the #EnjoyRespectFirenze campaign: sustainable transport!

As our friend Leonardo da Vinci, who enjoyed inventing totally green means of transport, reminds us, it’s important to "visit Florence on foot, by bike, or by public transport!". This ensures the city doesn’t get clogged up with cars and pollution, locals are able to find parking outside their homes, and the artistic heritage remains rich and eternal.

  • Florence is an easily walkable city
  • The city has 120km of cycle paths and was the first European city to experiment with Ridemovi bike sharing!
  • Tip tap on all public transport! Hop on buses and trams at any time, just have a contactless card with you and voilà!
