Once the residence of the Medici family, Palazzo Vecchio has been for centuries the symbol of civic power in Florence.
The Palace overlooks the magnificent Piazza della Signoria, without any doubts one of the most fascinating and important squares of Florence with its statues hosted under the Loggia dei Lanzi.Based on a project developed by Arnolfo di Cambio in 1299, Palazzo Vecchio was first the political headquarter of the Florentine Republic before being transformed by Giorgio Vasari in a superb palace for the grand-ducal family of the Medici.
The interiors are elegant, with the gorgeous "Salone del Cinquecento" and the monumental quarters embellished with statues by Donatello and Michelangelo and frescoes by Salviati and Ghirlandaio.
Discover the private studio of Francis I de’ Medici, refined prince collector: a jewel box full of paintings and small bronze statues celebrating the kinship between art and nature. At the end of the tour, our passionate tour guide will bring you on top of Arnolfo’s tower from where you will enjoy one of the most panoramic and spectacular view of the city!
