This enjoyable hike will take us on an adventure that goes through beautiful trails on the hills surrounding Florence, where we will be following the story of Leonardo's flying machine, and discover the ancient town of Fiesole and the surrounding caves, now covered by a beautiful forest.
The path develops along a very ancient route, filled with history and poetry, and delights us with a beautiful panorama, embracing Tuscany in its entirety: from Mount Falterona, from where the Arno river originates, to the mountains in the Chianti region, the Apuane Alps and a fair sretch of the Appennines.
We will also get to Piazzale Leonardo da Vinci, where Leonardo persuaded one of his students to throw himself into the void of the underlying quarry using his experimental flying machine.
Your guide will make you discover the typical florentine hills: woods, olive groves, vineyards, castles, villas as well as unusual views over Florence.
The tour includes a visit to a farm that produces wine and olive oil, as well as lunch at a tasty traditional tuscan restaurant.
