Enjoy an overwhelming weekend to the discover of the beautiful Chianti region and Elba Island at the wheel of classic spider or VW minivan. The vehicles available are Alfa Romeo model duetto '80s and Fiat 124 spider '70s and '80s, icons of Italian motoring. All vehicles, with displacement ranging from 1,400 c.c. to 2,000 c.c., are constantly overhauled and equipped with the necessary driverless rental licenses. They will travel in parade, radio-connected and assisted by a coordinator.

Description

DAY 1: FIRENZE - PORTOFERRAIO 250 km

Departure early in the morning driving along the panoramic route named via Chiantigiana towards the Chianti region.
First stop for a coffee break in the small but charming
Greve in Chianti.
Afterward we leave again towards Monteriggioni, a well preserved medieval stronghold built in 1200 a.C.
Then we reach Siena for an essential tour of the historic center and a visit to the headquarter of the “contrada della Lupa”. We will look closely at photos, films and trophies from the Palio to get a better understanding of the contrada members’ pride.
After a light lunch we arrive in Piombino to board the ferry to Portoferraio around 16.00.
Dinner at a fish restaurant and overnight stay in typical B&B.

DAY 2: PORTOFERRAIO - SATURNIA 123 km

After breakfast we leave for the tour of the island. We will stop in panoramic spots to take photos and dive into crystal waters bays.
Back to Portoferraio we will have a light lunch before boarding the ferry to Piombino.
Once in Piombino we will drive to Saturnia with a stopover in Albinia for a coffee break.
After having stored the luggages in the farmhouse where we will spend the night, we get to the thermal baths for a restful swim in the sulphurous waters.
Dinner and overnight stay in farmhouse.

DAY 3: SATURNIA - FIRENZE 168 km

After breakfast we get ready to engage an intense morning of driving through the Tuscan Maremma.
First stop is planned in Sorano, a small village built with tufa rock that was originally inhabited by the Etruscans.
We leave from Sorano to enter the State Road 2 Cassia, the route that every year is involved by the "1000 Miglia"Rally.
Then we stop for a light lunch in Bagno Vignoni, an ancient thermal site that really worths a relaxing visit.
Now we enter in the heart of Chianti, the Tuscany rural region where you can breathe the culture of good wine and the care for the land. Passing through gentle hills of vineyards and small medieval villages we arrive in Radda in Chianti for a typical lunch. Finally we rest a little under the cool shadow of main square’s lime trees, before leaving again to get to Firenze in the late afternoon.
