Celebrated for his large-scale figurative sculptures, Thomas J. Price draws our attention to the psychological embodiment of his fictional characters, highlighting the intrinsic value of the individual and subverting hierarchical structures. The works, which come from different sources, are developed through a hybrid approach between traditional sculpture and intuitive digital technology.

Price balances presentation methods, material, and scale to challenge our expectations and provide insights for deeper human connection.  The artist forces the viewer to consider how and why things are made, inserting references to ancient, classical and neoclassical sculpture alongside a sophisticated understanding of the symbolic power of materials.

The exhibition designed for the rooms of Palazzo Vecchio will present sculptural works of various scales set up within the permanent collection of the civic museum.  At the center of the exhibition are the two outdoor bronzes, one in the courtyard of the Museo Novecento and a 3.6 meter high golden sculpture that dialogues with the historical works in Piazza della Signoria.
