Black History Month Florence is back, the initiative born 10 years ago in Florence, co-founded and directed by Justin Randolph Thompson with Janine Gaëlle Dieudji and co-promoted by the Municipality of Florence. The event, now in its tenth edition, finds its roots in the United States with initiatives to celebrate the contribution of Afro-descendants in society and culture. Starting from the same principles, adapted to the Italian context and needs, after ten years of presence with over 300 events, a center and nine research platforms, and partnerships with over 80 entities in the sector, Black History Month Florence has inspired the creation of initiatives of the same name autonomous in other Italian cities including Turin, Bologna, Milan.
